Preview: Girls & Boys Presents Electric Flurry at Webster Hall with Le Castle Vania and dBerrie – 08-24-2012
This Friday night, if you’re looking to get a little crazy, make sure to head down to Webster Hall in NYC for what is sure to be an interesting night as Girls & Boys presents “Electric Flurry” with Le Castle Vania and dBerrie. In case you aren’t aware, “Electric Flurry” means it’s going to be a foam party. “A foam party?” you say? Yes, a most assuredly badass foam party. Webster Hall always seems to have a very interesting array of talent coming through the doors and having seen Le Castle Vania here earlier this year, we know that this venue knows how to rock out when he comes to town. Now just add foam.
dBerrie, formerly a “DJ to the stars,” now a progressive house DJ, is an artist I haven’t had the opportunity to see live. I’m looking forward to catching this young and talented artist as I’ve been snooping around his SoundCloud and I like what I hear! He has quite a few remixes I’m digging (Chris Brown – Don’t Wake Up, Passion Pit – Take A Walk and Gossip – Perfect World) and his Cosmic Opera set from April 5, 2012 is really a good listen, so Friday is sure to be a great introduction to dBerrie for me. It’s obvious the guy is no slouch, as he’s garnered support from Fedde Le Grand, Sidney Samson, Deniz Koyu, Swanky Tunes, Sultan & Ned Shepard and Gregori Klosman. I have a feeling he’s going to throw it down Friday and I’m eagerly awaiting his set.
Le Castle Vania (Dylan Eiland for those who don’t know) has been on a tear this year. Along with releasing two singles, The Light and Play Loud, Dylan has made appearances at SXSW, Kaskade’s Freaks of Nature Tour and was part of the second inaugural IDentity Festival Tour, as well as playing many other shows and working on an album. Looks like he’s been a busy guy! We were able to catch him at the Wantagh, NY stop of the IDentity Tour and as usual, he rocked the f*ck out. Everyone who was at his stage to catch his set left energized and ready to go another round, as his infectious energy spread throughout the crowd. Dylan makes sure to get you involved in his set and really knows how to work a crowd. Catching him live is always a treat and quite honestly, I’m really looking forward to seeing what kind of madness he’s going to bring to the decks on Friday.
If you guys head down to Webster Hall Friday night, make sure to come find me and say “Hi!” I love to party with my fellow ‘junkies and we can rage out! It’s sure to be one hell of a night, but don’t forget it’s a foam party, so dress accordingly. Hope to see you all out there!
