There are quite a few major event companies putting on shows around the world, but as native New Yorkers, we have a bit of a penchant for Made Events. These are the people that have brought us Electric Zoo for the past few years (and years to come of course!) and this year, they’ve got a series of shows at Governor’s Island in New York this summer; the first of which showcases Benny Benassi, Hardwell, Bingo Players and DallasK.
DallasK is an up and coming electro house producer with a flair for glitchy and energetic mixes. With support from Sander Van Doorn, Benny Benassi, BT, Bad Boy Bill, Spencer & Hill, Peacetreaty & Revolvr, this young gun is making a quick name for himself. Truthfully, we’re pretty excited to see him perform live as this will be a first for us.
We feature quite a bit of mixes from Hardwell here on Mixjunkies and for good reason; he’s awesome! Recently coming off of being voted #24 on the DJMag Top 100, this 23 year old “big room house” producer/DJ is steamrolling his way through the ranks and is (obviously) recognized as one of the premiere producers in the world. We’ve not seen Hardwell live either, so this will be a real treat for sure.
We make no apologies for our love affair with the Bingo Players here. From ‘Cry (Just A Little)’ to ‘Rattle,’ these guys straight up kill it with their productions. You just can’t help but bounce around and want to dance your ass off. We will more than likely be dancing the soles off of our sneakers once these guys come on and if you see us, you best believe we’re going to make you dance, too.
Finally, the “Electroman” himself, Benny Benassi is performing on Saturday. We actually saw him perform at this exact venue last year, so when we saw he was performing here again, we jumped at the chance to catch him live. Benny has been around for a long time and is still at the top of his game. His brand of electro is unmistakable and we can’t wait to dance, jump around and get everyone around us pumped up for this set.
This is going to be one hell of a jump off for the summer season at Governor’s Island, so make sure to get down there because this is one show you do not want to miss. If you’re down there, make sure to come find us; we love to party with our fellow Mixjunkies! See you down there!
