New Music Monday: Tone of Arc, Cosmic Gate Feat. Emma Hewitt, EDX, Never Say Die Records
It is Monday, and you know what that means. Beatport is fillings up with some brand new music to get your earbuds ready for the week ahead. I’ve gone through and chosen 4 new releases that I was really digging and I think you all should check out as well. We have a very wide variety of selections this week so lets get started.
Tone of Arc
We start off your morning with a new release from Tone of Arc off of No. 19 Music. Tone of Arc, also known as Derrick Boyd, has been making music for years. He didn’t strike it big till he teamed up with No. 19 Music and released his single ‘Shaking The Sky/No Pushers‘. Today we have new music from him. The new release is of the track ‘Goodbye Horses‘. Made famous originally in 1988 by Q Lazarus and featured in Silence of the Lambs, Tone of Arc, pays homage to the original by not trying to change to much, but still creating a dark electro feel to the song. It also features a remix from Crosstown Rebel/Wolf + Lamb artist Deniz Kurtel. Deniz takes the track and creates a massive deep house hit with it. Also featured is a brand new track from Tone of Arc,’Soundsail‘, that features to illustrious of Zoe Presnick.
Cosmic Gate Feat Emma Hewitt
With anticipation for the Wake Your Mind Deluxe Edition CD set to be released on Halloween, Cosmic Gate has released the track ‘Calm Down‘ today that features that wonderful vocals of the highly talented Emma Hewitt. The two, who will be traveling together next year for Australia’s Future Music Festival on the Wake Your Mind stage, have come out to create a very uplifting, moving track. The single release also features remixes from Omnia, Ost & Meyer and a Zetandel Chillout Mix. This is my must-have pick of the week, and is something you are going to want to buy right away.
With this newest release off of Toolroom Records, EDX has created as what can only be described as something special. ‘Touched‘ the brand new track from EDX, is a very melodic, artful piece of work that still has the big room sythns and progressive chord progressions. Having already spent all summer creating hit remixes for Avicii, Armin van Buuren and Sander van Doorn, while traveling all across the globe, it is amazing to see that he found time to create this incredible track.
Never Say Die Records
Today we have a new mix compilation from Never Say Die Records called Spectrasonic: Volume 1. Never Say Die Records is creating this new mix compilation series to bring focus on the ever expanding sub-genres of music and stamp the Never Say Die name on ever single one. Spectrasonic: Volume 1 tracks an intriguing look on the 110BPM genre, specifically glitch hop with a mixture of electro house. The mix contains tracks from 501, Milo & Otis, label boss Mobscene and label favorite Habstrakt. If you want to get glitchy, then this is a great mix to pick up.
