Album Review: Savoy- Supertrail EP
Released last week, Savoy are out with another free 7 track EP entitled ‘Supertrail’. This whole album is filled with gems, starting immediately with the fast and furious ‘Devil’s on Horseback’, a futuristic synthy- electro tune similar to the sound of something in between Daft Punk and Knife Party. Getting further into the album, we next hear the lighter dubstep ‘So Bad’ featuring awesome vocals from past collaborator Heather Bright, while the track ‘I’m Fine’ starts out with a supremely mellow intro and turns into an absolute banger! Savoy manages to even mix some moombahton-esque horns and drops into the mix with ‘Senator’, and you can always get your electro head banging out with ‘Never too Late’. Finally, they leave off with a hard hitting, Justice sounding track entitled ‘The Ratpack’ that will leave you in just the right mood to continue scrolling through the dozens of other tunes these guys have to offer on their SoundCloud.
Be sure to catch them at one of their many upcoming shows in the next couple months. They’ll be laying it down everywhere from the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO, to CounterPoint Festival in Atlanta, GA, and rounding it out with a few different Dayglow events in October.
All in all, this is one Helluva release from these gentlemen. Give their latest album a listen below, and be sure to pick up the free download via their Facebook or SoundCloud.
